SENSHI Sailor Jupiter PLANET Jupiter CASTLE Io Castle SPHERE Lightning & Wood COLOURS Green & Pink UNIFORM Here || Sailor Jupiter's uniform consists of three main colors: green, pink, and white. Starting at the top and working our way down, Jupiter's first piece of uniform is her green hair-tie, followed by her golden tiara (complete with a green gem stone set in the center) that also doubles as a lightning rod. Around her neck, Sailor Jupiter wears a green chocker with a small yellow star in the center, while in her ears are a pair of pink rose earrings. Her fuku resembles that of a Japanese school girl's uniform. It consists of a white, form-fitting bodice with a pink bow on the front chest area; a green circle resides in the middle of the bow. Extending from the bow is a green sailor collar with a white stripe running across the side. The sleeves of her bodice are capped and short. Upon her arms, Sailor Jupiter wears long, elbow length white gloves, which have green trimming on the ends. Her uniform's skirt is also green and upon the lower back of her fuku can be found another pink bow. Finally, we have Sailor Jupiter's shoes: a pair of green ankle boots with white x-laces; thus completing her sailor senshi uniform. SPECIAL ITEMS Communication watch, henshin device HENSHIN PEN A green henshin pen HENSHIN SEQUENCE Here || To transform into Sailor Jupiter, Nicole clutches her henshin pen and raising her hand in the air, shouts, "Jupiter Power, Make Up!" The emblem of Jupiter upon her pen glows and emits a string of electricity from her pen. From there, her fingernails become a shade of green as Nic spins around; the string of electricity wrapping around her body the entire time. She finally stops spinning with her back facing outward and the silver lighting forms into what looks like the shape of an atom. The lightning finally bursts forth, creating a blinding light. When it fades away, Nic is now fully transformed into Sailor Jupiter. Spinning a few more times, Nic's auburn hair lengthens and takes on a more brown color, while also being pulled up into a long ponytail and secured with two green, circular hair-tie while two pieces of hair hang down on either side of her face. The newly transformed Sailor Jupiter finally comes to a stop, striking a rather dramatic pose before she's finally ready to kick some serious bad-guy butt. FIRST ATTACK Supreme Thunder CIVILIAN ABILITIES N/A STRENGTHS Sailor Jupiter is known as the guardian of the inner senshi and she certainly lives up to the title, as she tends to serve as the "muscles" of the group. Furthermore, Sailor Jupiter is especially skilled in hand-to-hand combat. WEAKNESSES Jupiter is a very "shoot first, ask questions later" sort of girl. So instead of thinking through the situation, she just acts. She can also have a problem with forgiveness and can be unrelenting in her attacks. |
| HISTORY |
Ready for a sob story? Okay, well here goes. The setting is New York City, 1990 and two teenagers are madly in love with each other. At least, that's what they think. The pretty little girlfriend, Lindsey James, is only a junior in high school and seventeen in age. Her dashing boyfriend, Chris Calvert, is a senior in high school and a very mature eighteen. Both of them swear they're in love and every day Lindsey assures her parents that, when the time comes, Chris plans on marrying her. But Henry and Vivian James know better than that and as the two teenagers start to get closer and closer, they know that it's time to start keeping them farther and farther apart, because they know that Chris is only in it for one thing and one thing only. When the James parents forbid their daughter to ever see her boyfriend again, it was naturally WWIII. Already quite rebellious, it was around this time that Lindsey started sneaking out of her window at night to meet up with Chris. A few weeks of doing this passed until, suddenly, something was terribly wrong. And when she missed a period and was starting to wake up with morning sickness, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that at seventeen years old, Lindsey James was pregnant with Chris Calvert's baby. For a week straight, all Lindsey did was worry, and the only people who knew about her little problem were her best friends; not even Chris knew until she finally told him a week later. And, surprisingly enough, after she told him, Chris stuck around and even proposed to her a few months down the road. Telling her parents, on the other hand, was another story...and the fact that all her father did was scream and all her mother did was cry Lindsey chalked up to the fact that they just didn't understand her or that she was in love. And once again, they forbid her from seeing Chris...this time taking drastic measures and even sealing her window. It didn't stop her, however, and in the middle of the night, six month pregnant Lindsey snuck out of her house for the last time and ran away with Chris Calvert. The James family would never see their daughter again. However, they would see the product of Chris and Lindsey's apparent love for each other. Nicole Calvert was brought into the world on the snowy morning of December 19th, 1991. It wasn't a terribly difficult labor and though her mother wasn't at her side, Chris was there the entire time, holding his new wife's hand and talking her through the entire thing. Perhaps Lindsey's parents were wrong all along and this truly was love? Nevertheless, in the very early hours of the morning, Nicole was born, a healthy, screaming baby girl...and the family was complete. However, both Chris and Nicole knew that it wasn't meant to last. No one had ever loved (or ever will love) Nicole as much as her parents did and both knew that it would have been selfish to deny her a good life by making her live with them, living from paycheck to paycheck and not even being able to provide food on the table some nights. So with all the love a mother and father can have for their child, Lindsey checked herself out of the hospital early and while cradling Nicole in her arms, Chris drove them to her parent's home. Parking out by the bushes, Lindsey scrawled a note for her parents, explaining herself and begging them to give Nicole a better life, and she finally attached it to her daughter's blanket. Promising to come back for her daughter one day, she kissed the baby's forehead and sat her on the ground in front of her parents' door, suppressing a few sobs every now and then. Before she left her daughter for the last time, however, she unwound a black cord-necklace from around her neck and tucked it securely with Nicole. And with that, Lindsey rang the doorbell frantically and gave a few sharp knocks on the door before running from the house back to her husband's car. As Chris peeled away and out of sight, Vivian answered the door to find her granddaughter lying in the snow, crying. Without so much as a shriek, Vivian picked up her granddaughter and brought her inside to Henry. The couple didn't even have to read the note to know that this was the flesh and blood of their daughter and already they were prepared to provide her with the best life they could. And that's how Nicole's very first Christmas was spent. No one could say that Nicole's life as a child was easy. Before she knew the truth about her parents, it was terribly easy, but after Henry and Vivian finally told her the truth, it was all downhill it seemed. After all, how happy can a child be after just finding out that the people who raised you and who you thought were your parents are actually your grandparents...and the people who actually are your parents just abandoned you, on Christmas nonetheless? Though Henry and Vivian were picture-perfect parents and provided just about everything that Nicole wanted (though she didn't want for much; she was actually a very content child, which Vivian thought must have come from Chris since it wasn't a trait Nicole possessed), their biggest mistake was in telling Nicole at such a young age the truth. But what other choice did they have? Nic ended up learning the very hard truth at age six. After coming home from kindergarten one day, the little girl had a very upsetting situation: "A boy in my class was teasing me because I don't have the same last name as you do, Mommy. He says it's because I'm adopted and my real parents don't want me. That's not true, is it Mommy?" Vivian James had hoped that she could put off telling her granddaughter the truth for as long as possible...and she would have, had Nicole not asked her. Already at an age where she could realize what lies were and when people were lying, Vivian knew that if she didn't tell her the truth now, there was a high possibility that Nicole would grow up hating her and resenting the fact that she never told her the truth so many years ago when she asked. And so, Henry and Vivian sat their six-year old granddaughter down, and told her the absolute truth, even giving her the black necklace Lindsey left with her all those years ago. And so, she knew the truth about her parents...for the most part. However, Nicole saw the abandonment through the eyes of a six year old; she didn't see it as her mother giving her up so that she would be able to live a better life, she saw it as her mother giving her up because she didn't want her. And it hurt...bad. There was a period of time when Nicole went into quite a depression and for a few weeks straight, she didn't talk to anyone and for the most part, kept herself locked up in her room...just thinking about the situation (as much as a six year old can think about such things.) Though she never truly got over it, Nicole slowly began to accept this tragic news and began the long process of moving on. Unfortunately, however, this major blow at such a young age impacted her greatly growing up. She became a very bitter, angry young woman. After all, if you grew up with your classmates constantly asking why your parents abandoned you, how happy could you be? The slightest remark would send Nic over the edge and it wasn't long before she began to learn how to fight. Naturally, this didn't win the girl too many friends, and as she grew older and entered middle school, even the kids in older grades began to fear her: no one wanted their ass kicked by a sixth grader. But to be honest, Nic was completely content with being on her lonesome, for the most part anyway. Sure, she wanted girlfriends; she wanted friends who would come over to her house and spend the night, she wanted friends she could gossip and giggle with, she wanted friends who would stay up all night giving each other make-overs. But if that meant she was going to have stop fighting and give up her tough-girl persona, having those sorts of friends was out of the question. So Nic stayed at home with Vivian (who was her real mother, as far as she was concerned), and she became her best friend. It was Vivian who introduced her to her love of cooking and Nic loved the fact that it was something that the two could do together as mother and daughter; plus, it helped her forget the pain of her real mother. Cooking was her outlet and quickly her passion. Time went by and soon enough, it was time for Nicole to be sent off to high school. And as a present to her, Vivian and Henry revealed that instead of New York High School, the couple had been saving their paychecks and would be sending her off to York Prepatory School. Naturally, Nic hated the idea. But what could she do? Refuse to go? Break the hearts of her parents, who had been saving their hard-earned money to send her to some snobby prep school...where she would more than likely end up beating the crap out of most of the kids in her grade? Though she didn't protest openly, the fact that several neighborhood boys who had a nasty habit of picking on her were sent to the hospital with broken bones showed how much the idea of going to York Prep ate away at her. The time finally came and before she knew it, Nicole was dressed in a preppy little uniform with absolutely no way to rebel against it. It was just as she was leaving the house that she recalled going over the dress code of York Prep and remembered that "jewelry considered to be cheap and/or tacky will not be allowed," and while it might not have been tacky per se, the black necklace that her mother left her was certainly cheap! Winding it around her neck and tying it in a sloppy knot, Vivian was surprised to see Nic wearing her mother's gift, but felt it was not her place to protest the wearing of the necklace. York Prep, however, did. And on her very first day of school, after refusing to take the necklace off, Nic was suspended for the day. It was the brilliant start to a less than brilliant school year. Fights were a common thing for Nic, who pretty much didn't get along with anyone at the private school. There were a few boys that Nic fell in with and for a short while, she ran around with the "bad girls" of the school...but none of them were all that tough and Nicole found herself becoming bored with their antics when none of them would ever lay a hand on people who upset them or did wrong. Eventually, she disassociated from just about everyone at the school and took school-yard justice into her own hands. Though she was suspended on just about a weekly basis, it wasn't until the beginning of her sophomore year that she was expelled from York Prep School for breaking the arm of a senior who was messing with an underclassman. And though Vivian and Henry were devastated that Nic actually managed to get herself kicked out, they couldn't say that they were too disappointed...since she was, after all, defending someone incapable of defending themselves. She was thus moved to New York City High School, where she fit in quite remarkably. As she grew older, music became another outlet in which Nic felt she could express herself. As early as fifteen years old, the girl would leave her house and make her way to the local DIY concert venue, to hear local punk and hardcore bands play. It was here that she met her true friends; people who honestly understood her and got where she was coming from. But even though she felt closer to these friends she made at concerts, Nic never once mentioned the true story about her mother and father abandoning her...she just never felt honestly close enough to anyone to ever even touch on the subject. Though the subject of her necklace that she wears everyday has come up before, Nic just casually plays it off as a gift form her mother (who everyone believes to be Vivian and, of course, not Lindsey since they have no idea who she even is) and that's that. And since no one ever really asked about why Vivian and Henry had a child so late in their lives, Nic never told. Now in her junior year at the high school, Nicole Calvert is still very much the same girl she was growing up. The entire school knows her as the girl who got kicked out of York Prep for breaking a senior's arm and as a result, not many people want to cross paths with her. It was the school's debate teacher, however, that finally talked her into channeling some of her argumentative nature into debate...so that instead of throwing punches, she would instead be throwing facts and clever arguments around instead. And this "therapy" sort of worked...though it does take all of her strength at debate tournaments to not jump across the room and beat the life out of her opponents. So maybe debate has done some good for her? As far as schooling goes, Nic is just your average student. She's not stupid by any means, but the idea of doing homework and actually taking time to sit down and study for tests just doesn't appeal to her. She therefore makes painfully average marks (think mostly in the C region) but that's completely fine with her. Besides, she has more important things to worry about...like her new job at the Milk & Cookies Bakery, going to concerts and maintaining a social life there, and this nagging feeling at the back of her mind that she's forgetting something terribly important. Not to mention the fact that, lately, she's been going through some fierce deja vu. Nevertheless, she tries to ignore those weird feelings she's been getting lately and instead focuses upon her job, her social life, and kicking the asses of anyone who wants to mess with her or people who can't defend themselves. |
| PERSONALITY |
Probably Nicole Calvert's most admirable quality is her unrelenting bravery. Essentially, the girl seems like she's afraid of nothing. Of course, her closest friends and family members know that this is far from the truth, but to everyone else, Nic is probably the most fearless girl in New York City...maybe even the entire world! This stems from the fact that Nic will never back down...from anything. Whether it's having to get up in front of the class and deliver a speech or going face to face with a burly man in a back alley of New York, Nicole Calvert won't back down from anything. Thus, she's an extraordinarily brave young girl...a trait she isn't exactly sure where she got from, since she feels both of her parents are cowards for abandoning her. Because of her bravery, Nicole has the gift of being able to speak her mind and say exactly what's on with without the fear of being thought down upon or having to worry about defending her views. But then again, who does she have to defend her views against? No one in their right mind would challenge Nicole, that's for sure! Unfortunately, this courageousness and ability to never back down also has it's down side: Nicole is extremely stubborn and is easily angered when people don't see things her way. When she has something that she wants or when she feels a certain way, she is known for being particularly blind to other methods of doing things or opposite views, since she believes that her views are always the best and always correct. Furthermore, because of her bravery, this generally puts Nicole in a very confrontational mood. You see, when she sees something that pisses her off, you can bet that she's going to call it out and defend her views...even if that means getting into a scuffle of sorts. This trait is generally the one that gets her trouble with starting fights, since Nic will always speak her mind and will never back down from a fight when her ideals are put into question. Going along with her courageous side is the fact that Nic is, above all, a fighter. Furthermore, she doesn't just stand up for herself. After all, what kind of fighter would she make if she only stood up for herself? No, she has to stand up for those she believes can't stand up for themselves, too. Even if said people don't really need her help, you can count on Nic sticking her nose into other people's business when she sees fit and defending those that she deems as weak. And the girl is damn good at it, too. Nic could have easily been a school bully...and truth be told, for a while there she was. Living a very bitter and angry life, and feeling that she was being betrayed by everyone around her, Nic naturally took her anger out on people she felt couldn't defend themselves. It wasn't until she grew more mature and looked back on what she was doing that Nicole realized she was being...quite the bitch. A simple apology wasn't going to make up for the damage she inflicted upon the innocent. So to make up for what she did, Nic started defending others as well as defending the things that she believed in. If she saw some older kids pushing around a younger one, she'd step in. If she saw the popular girls teasing an outcast, she'd step in. It didn't matter to her (or even occur to her) that the people she might be fighting might not be able to defend themselves against her, which is a slightly ironic thought: Nic defending people who can't defend themselves...but in defending these people, she's fighting others who couldn't defend themselves from her. It didn't matter though, as long as Nic felt that these people deserved it. And besides, she always gave warning before she attacked...though she was usually told to stay out of it...no one could deny that Nic at least gave some form of warning before beating the life out of her opponents. Years and years of fighting have made Nic quite strong and people know that it would be in their best interest to never cross Nic in the wrong way. Furthermore, her peers know that if someone is bullying them, all they have to do is run to Nicole Calvert and the whole situation will be settled. And if students don't know that Nic will set them straight...well, they'll certainly find out, now won't they? Unfortunately, Nic isn't the type of person who is capable of rational thought in the heat of the moment. Simply put, she is a very "shoot first, ask questions later" type of person. If she comes upon two people fighting, whoever looks like they're taking the brunt of the beating will soon find that Nic has stepped in and joined their side. Even if it means that, later, Nic will find out that she defended the wrong person. Nic is a very instinctual person, and instead of giving great thought to her possible options, she goes with whatever her gut tells her to do first. If this means beat someone within an inch of their life, well...so be it. Furthermore, her emotions oftentimes get the better of her, and before she knows it, she's lashing out at the wrong people. And, unfortunately, it doesn't take much to set Nic off: the girl is extremely volatile and extremely temperamental. Even looking at her in a slightly weird manner could set her over the edge, and before she can even stop herself, she's starting a fight with the person or, worse, lunging at them and punching their lights out. She therefore needs to ally herself with people who are going to stop her from doing things without thinking first. This can be a huge problem, though, when you think about it. After all, who wants to tell an angry Nicole Calvert that she should stop and actually think about what she's doing before she does it? No one, that's who! Only those who Nicole calls her truest friends have the capability to get the rash girl's attention in the heat of the moment, and only they can tell her to stop and think about what she's doing (or is about to do in some cases.) Luckily, when someone can actually break through and get her to stop, Nic will relent. And she will think about what she's doing and she'll actually give thought to her actions before deciding what to do from there. So if Nic can actually find someone who isn't afraid to step in and tell her to stop, then the girl is in business! Otherwise, you can count on her continuing to be irrational and completely rash. Though Nic might seem like a girl who is very in touch with her masculine side, this doesn't mean that she doesn't have a good grasp on her feminine side, either. In all honestly, Nic has quite a good grasp on her feminine side...maybe even more than her masculine side. Sure, she does boyish things like fighting for example, but she does have quite a few feminine qualities about her. For one thing, most people might expect Nic to be the type of girl who refuses to wear skirts or girly things. This is both true and false...it's true in the sense that Nicole would refuse to wear girly things if they're the type of girly things that popular "it" girls wear or if it's name brand. However, it's false in the sense that Nic actually does wear skirts. What's more is that she likes it! In fact, she sees nothing wrong or demeaning about wearing a skirt and she has absolutely no qualms about it! Just as long as she can still fight in it, that is. And she'll certainly wear girly things too, so long as she feels that she's not compromising her personal style by wearing said outfit. She also has nothing against the color pink (she actually likes it, in some situations) and she does partake in some girlier activities, such as painting her nails or the occasional fixing of her hair. Her feminine side goes beyond clothes and physical appearance though, too. For one thing, Nicole is quite the baker (a passion that her grandmother turned her on to.) Ever since she discovered her talent, baking has become more than just a hobby for her; it's even become a career of sorts. Knowing that she was going to have to find a job sooner or later, Nicole jumped on the chance when she saw that a local bakery (Milk & Cookies Bakery, to be exact) was hiring. It didn't take much for the bakery to decide to hire Nic; mostly due to the fact that they had never seen a teenager so enthused about baking. Furthermore, Nic loves to share her talent with others, and often times she'll show up to school events with treats for her friends that she had baked on a whim. If you've got a sweet-tooth, you'd do well to be friends with Miss Calvert! Nicole also is a big fan of girl-talk (though gossiping is not included in this as Nic finds it to be a completely superficial practice and will not tolerate girls who do waste their time with it) and loves nothing more than getting together with her best friends to just talk about boys, rage about school and work, and what's driving them mad as of late. So while she might not be traditional girly-girl, it's very true that Nicole is in touch with her feminine side...she just has a different way of showing it! Finally, and, most importantly, Nicole Evelyn Calvert is a staunchly independent teenager...almost shockingly so. Without a doubt, she's one of those kids that if you were to place them in the middle of New York City and force them to start fending for themselves (i.e. make them buy their own apartment, work their own job, cook for themselves, etc.) Nic would thrive in a heartbeat. And, in some respects, this is surprising...considering the fact that she wasn't really left alone to fend for herself as a child and adolescent. True, her parents abandoned her, but her grandparents (who care for her all of her life) never did. Perhaps it was a sickening thought in the back of Nic's mind that drove her forward and taught her to become an independent individual: it doesn't matter how much she loves them, eventually her grandparents, the people who raised her, would die. And then who would she have? Her mother was an only child, so she had no Aunts or Uncles, no cousins to speak of. Furthermore, her mom and dad never came back for her like they promised they would...so there was no way she could go crawling back to the people who didn't want her in the first place. That would show weakness in her; and if there's anything that Nic won't allow herself to show, it's weakness. Not only that, but she doesn't know if she has any brothers or sisters...and even if she did, it's not like she could find them without looking up her parents. Likewise, she couldn't look up her father's side of the family since that meant she'd have to look up her father. Besides, where were they when her parents abandoned her? She didn't see them showing up at the Jame residence, demanding to see their granddaughter. So, in Nic's mind, they didn't want her either. And so, if the grandparents who raised her died, Nic would be alone. This thought propelled her forward and forced her to learn how to live on her own. Often times she would insist that her "parents" allow her to take care of some of the responsibilities around the house: she would cook the meals that day, she would run to the store for the groceries that they needed, she would call the repair man when something in the house broke, and she would earn her own money to pay for her own things. In the end, this taught Nic that she didn't have to rely upon anyone in order to survive in the world...and it also let her know that, when the time comes for her grandparents to depart this world, Nic Calvert would be able to make it on her own...however lonely she might be, she would be a survivor and she would be able to make it as a completely independent individual. |
| APPEARANCE |
For girl who prides herself on not being girly, it might come as a bit of a shock that Nic is (for all intensive purposes) ... pretty. Of course, she isn't a drop-dead gorgeous girl who can stop men on the street with just one look; but it really can't be denied that she's certainly pretty. At least in a unconventional sort of way. She measures in at a startlingly tall 5'9" (and you can bet that the girl's basketball coach is constantly hounding her to join the team) and is at a very average weight of 144 pounds. She has a thin, almost heart-shaped face with a few freckles scattered across the bridge of her nose. (Those freckles also being the bane of her existence, I might add.) Nic's hair, though she doesn't know it, is an exact match to that of her birth father's: an auburn shade of brown, with hints of red in it if you looked at it in just the right light. Though her hair might be a gift from her father, Nicole's eyes are completely that of her mother's. From the very shade of dark brown right down to the teeny, tiny little bags that tend to form under them...there's no mistaking the fact that Nic inherited her eyes from her mother. People don't expect girls like Nic to be happy; they seem to think only happiness can be found in the more popular girls who keep up with the latest trends...but the truth of the matter is that Nic is almost always smiling. And even when she's not doing that, she is a particularly expressive girl; it's really not hard to tell what emotions Nicole Calvert is experiencing. Though she's a very average weight and has no reason at all to complain about her body, Nic does have a bit of muscle clinging to her bones...but, after all, this is unavoidable when you have a girl who goes around beating people up who she feels have wrong others or herself. It's just what she signed up for when she decided that it was her responsibility to keep others in check. Her manner of dress should come as no surprise to those who have actually dealt with Miss Calvert. You can bet that the girl owns nothing that might be confused for name-brand clothing or anything that girls like Paris Hilton might be seen wearing. And who can blame her, really? Instead, Nic opts for clothes in darker shades and at times, it seems like she goes out of her way to buy clothes that go against whatever stupid trend is popular at the moment. Her "style" is generally classified as rocker chic (though she would laugh her ass off if anyone ever said this to her face) and instead of going out of her way to dress up, Nic wears whatever she feels is comfortable while also retaining her punk rock image. But just because she doesn't wear trendy clothes doesn't mean that Nic is incapable of dressing in the fashion of a teenage girl. She just goes about it in her own way, to put it nicely. While most girls might wear tank tops in bright shades of pink and yellow, Nic could be found wearing one in green, brown, or black. And just because she doesn't dress like normal girls doesn't mean that she doesn't own skirts and the like. And in fact, she does wear skirts from time to time...as long as they fit in with her rocker persona she seems to have going for her. Make-up, as one might have guessed, also isn't that big of a deal to the young girl...and aside from some black eyeliner here and maybe a bit of lipgloss there, Nic generally doesn't mess with the stuff. Hair is another issue completely with her, too. Most of the time, Nic can be found wearing her hair in one of two ways: down and loose or up in some sort of ponytail. Some days she might feel creative and spice it up, but generally, wearing a ponytail is as far as Nic will go when it comes to messing with her hair. There's only one thing that Nic seems to wear consistently: a black choker that was presented to her from her mother, when she left baby Nic all alone on her grandparent's porch steps. Nic is almost never seen without the necklace on and, should anyone ever insult it, they can have a nice long talk with Nic's fist. HEIGHT 5'9" WEIGHT 144 lbs HAIR Medium length auburn hair EYES Brown DISTINGUISHING MARKS Nic has a brown dot (probably a freckle; even she isn't quite sure what it is) on the left side of her nose, up toward the bridge. |
